報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介：

      美國(guó)華盛頓大學(xué)（西雅圖）數(shù)學(xué)系終身教授，分別于2007年和2014年當(dāng)選為國(guó)際數(shù)理統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士和美國(guó)數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士，2019年榮獲It? Prize。主要從事概率論及隨機(jī)過程的研究，主要研究方向包括馬爾可夫過程和狄氏空間理論、位勢(shì)理論、隨機(jī)微分方程、擴(kuò)散過程、穩(wěn)定過程以及偏微分方程中的概率方法等。現(xiàn)（曾）擔(dān)任國(guó)際著名期刊Potential Analysis的主編以及AOP、AAP、SPA、EJP、JTP、PAMS等期刊編委。出版專著一部，在JEMS、MAMS、Math. Ann.、Adv. Math.、CMP、AOP、PTRF、TAMS、JFA等頂尖期刊發(fā)表論文近200篇。

報(bào)告摘要：

      Let F be a generalized Sierpinski carpet inside a d-dimensional unit hypercube with d≥ 2 and F_n be its n-stage approximation. Denote by d_w and L≥3 the walk dimension and the length scale of the carpet F. Let X^n be the normally reflected Brownian motion on F_n running at speed L^{(d_w-2)n}}. In this talk, we show that X^n converges weakly to a Brownian motion on F. We further show that the effective resistance between two opposite faces of F_n with respect to X^n converges to a positive constant as n tends to infinity. This gives a positive answer to an open problem of Barlow and Bass (1990).
